I live at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. I have three grown children and five grandchildren. I spent over five years in the Navy and then decided to go to college for a degree. I worked with handicapped children through Easter Seals until I had to leave on disability.
Now I spend most of my time working on a website that myself and a couple friends started called the Bridge of Dreams. We feature children with life threatening and/or chronic illnesses. We offer moral support for the families, send cards and letters and small gifts. We 'adopt' them out to the public so that they can receive 'happy mail". They need to know that people genuinely care about them and pray for them. Sometimes when they aren't feeling well, just a card or a pack of stickers will make their day and put a smile on their face.
I met Brigid through one of our Bridge kid's families. Her amazing drive and determination to help change the lives of sick children are something this world needs more of.
God bless you, and as my 2 year old grandson would say... "stay safe and wear your seatbelt".
