Steve Steinert - USSA Advisory Council
I worked as a wildlife biologist for 33 years for the Colorado Division of Wildlife. During those years I was fortunate to work with many species of wildlife in varied habitats. I put tracking devices on everything from mice to moose and teal to turkeys.

I raised two boys and have always enjoyed working with kids. For several years, I had a rescued mountain lion that I took to schools etc. giving programs on lion behavior and what to do if confronted by dangerous wildlife. I was an Eagle Scout and scout leader.

As well as an avid hunter and fisherman, I have always had a love for animals. Dogs and horses have always been an important part of my work as well as my play. Horseback pack trips into wilderness areas have always been one of my most enjoyable activities. For several years, I worked for an outfitter, guiding elk hunters from a wilderness camp. I truly enjoyed taking others hunting.

After retiring, my wife and I moved to central Arizona, and now live near Showlow in the White Mountains.
