My name is Tony Brady and I grew up in North Carolina learning from my dad how to fish in small farm ponds and creeks. Later our interest turned to flathead catfishing in large North Carolina reservoirs. It was these fishing trips with my dad that I grew to love fishing and being outside so much that it literally changed the direction of my life. I am now a professional biologist working with fish and freshwater mussels through out the mid-west and in the Mississippi River.
Being a part of USSA, is helping my honor my father's memory. One of the last memories I have of my dad is at my oldest daughter's first birthday. Friends of our attending the party had a set of twin girls, one of which has downs syndrome. My dad fell in love with this little girl at first sight and treated her like she was his granddaughter. The image of my dad holding her has been one of my favorite memories that I cherish. Now, after meeting Brigid and seeing how she is doing the same, loving these kids like they are her own, I could not help wanting to be apart of USSA. Each USSA event that I participate at I meet someone new, learn a new story, and see that the love I developed for the outdoors that changed my life is now changing, enhancing, and in some cases prolonging the life of some very special kids. By being a part of USSA, I have the chance to help pass on my love for the outdoors and impact lives at the same time.
